maybe your bridge needs filing. if there's a sharp spot, the same string will break over and over again.

Omar broke a string into the second song in the set.. but he's got two guitars and a roadie.. unlike my band . my bass strings break about once a year, I think. it was quite annoying when a string broke last time, I needed to borrow money to afford the $40 strings..

I play pretty hard.. but not very hard anyway. the strings don't break completely, the thing is that a lot of dirt gets between the wires, and after some time, they pop close to the stable.. and then I can't tune the string again, as the wire gets dragged out.. it's hard to explain.. pardon my bad english.
