I play pretty hard.. but not very hard anyway. the strings don't break completely, the thing is that a lot of dirt gets between the wires, and after some time, they pop close to the stable.. and then I can't tune the string again, as the wire gets dragged out.. it's hard to explain.. pardon my bad english. i know the problem. i thought you meant you snapped them. that'd be a terrifying experience!

i always thought you have to change strings generell every year because they get old .......................i dont know if this comment made sense but erm i dont know yeah, they get old and don't sound as good.. but I'm usually lazy.. I've only changed strings twice so far

my bass player broke two strings on the same rehearsal it turned out to be laughable, in the end

Bass strings don't really snap, they just kinda unfold and get really really big. I broke one before and was like WTF? No painful snapping?
My guitar has fret buzz and I think there's something wrong with the bridge cause it's always the A string that breaks. I just need to get a whole new guitar once I get my tax returns.
