Next to ATDI and MV, Modest Mouse is my favorite band.
They were amazing the first time, and only time, I saw them. I went with my uncle who is really into them and never had heard a song. It was easily the best show I had ever seen.
He met Issac later on at a 21+ Ugly Casanova show and went with him to the after party and they had a really long conversation. They talked about my uncle's seafood market, and about Issac's past. Issac had a very fucked up family situation, something about his father marrying his sister and having him, bring him up in a trailer park. My uncle asked him about the songs, such as what's the deal with "The ravens and the seaguls push each other inward and outward". Issac commented on how on the coast, how frequent it is to see ravens and seaguls fly with each other.
He was a very odd man and sure did love his alcohol.
Uh, anyway, Modest Mouse rules.

HUH? I don't see that at all. well in my opinion EVERYTHING sounds like the pixies. i think its the weird vocals and just the same style guitar / drums kinda thing im not a fan of either band but modest mouse are more 'ear' friendly i think

i love modest mouse, as you can guess
moon and antarctica is my favorite album, but lonesome crowded west isnt far behind.
great songs: doin' the cockroach, cowboy dan, out of gas, never ending math equation, all night diner, other people's lives, 3rd planet, tiny cities made of ashes, a different city, alone down there, the stars are projectors, life like weeds... anything would be good.

I think I am the only person who likes Modest Mouse who doesn't really like The Lonesome Crowded West all that much.
