do you just say that because they are nothign like at the drive-in? cause i at first thought they were boring and stuff, but then i realsised that they arent at the drive-in and looked at it in a different light. then the songs sounded better. its weird but true.
well with your negative veiws. do you think they can, and will get better, or are they likely to get worse?

Well, I guess I basically agree with what has already been said. They have taken a few steps back, and although I didnt expect them to sound like ATDI, I did expect them to at least try something new. Instead, it just sounds like generic rock to me. Of course, this is only my opinion.

Oh, and I think they do have potential considering all the great music they have made in the past. But I have a feeling they will blow it. Again...

I hate blaze and how he talks like he considers himself a fifth member or something... but I love 'em (sorry!). As good as they are, they'll never compare to At the Drive-In or The Mars Volta, though. They'll just never match up to them (how could they, Omar's not in the band).

sparta is nothing special to me, i have no problem with you others you enjoy their music for some reason, they are nothing new to music, just another tangent of a crappy poppy punk trend. what made atdi great was the simplicity of these 3 members combined with the complexity and genious of 2 others. The mix was amazing. And while the 2 others can go on to push new musical bounderies, the 3 others are left to stay stagnant and banal(that means boring). ;D

The way I look at it, Sparta is better than 75% of music out there. I would say that the Mars Volta is pushing 95-99%. Sparta is good music; I can listen to a few songs in my car. I enjoy Sparta, but I certainly don't enjoy their music on the same level as the Mars Volta. I put that on and I'm drumming on the wheel and screaming my lungs out or moaning along with Cedric. Listening to the Mars Volta is such a completely different experience than listening to almost anything else, it's hard to even compare. Ever since I started listening, everything else just sounds like it's "missing something."
