What does everyone expect to be on the new album( the sounds and all) Do you think it will be recognized by many people and what will be the impact?

hmm... i dont know. it is going to be genius. but it'll either go completely un recognised by everyoen excpet fans. or it'll be everywhere. this sorta crazy shit has the potential to be the 'next big thing' with alsorts of crap fuckers liking it to be cool. i think it will influence a lot of bands, and we will get some good stuff, and some shit stuff.

id rather it not be too popular, cause i would hate to see all these trendy cocksuckers listening to mars volta to be cool.

I hope it sounds completely different from everything we've heard before. I mean, I like what i've heard (obv.) but i'd love to play it the first time and hear something I completely wasn't expecting. (Like the first time I heard that Untitled song -- it's not so much that it was that great, it's pretty good, it's just so different from the previous songs.

if its anything like tremulant is, then they are probably going to be one of the greatest bands ever. in my opinion though. but yeah i hope they just kind of pass under the radar of being "hip", but still are successful.
and great sig fragility, requiem for a dream is an amazing movie

At the drive-in is still pretty popular in my area. In my physics class alone last year, there were three people that were fans. And then just the other day some fucking retarded kid in my tech ed class (during a discussion on what music we like, where I said ATDI) he was like "At the drive-in fucking rocks!" I double-taked. By fucking-retarded kid I mean he's one of those guys who's like "I can quote all Sublime songs!"
While I have a feeling the new album is going to fuck shit up, I don't think the media is going to take it as much as I'd hope. While I'd love it, I can't imagine seeing "The Mars Volta -- [title], Album of 2003" or anything.
