fuck i love the last part of drunkship! the drumming, omar's yelling, the keys, and cedric seemingly singing what comes to his mind at the time.
hell yeah! this is the kind of energy i want, look forward to, and expect on the album.

that record will own everything that comes out next year...maybe even radiohead's new one.
needless to say, I hoping anyday we'll get some kind of studio demo leak, I can't wait to hear it...The live stuff can hold me over til spring tho.

This album... holy shit. It's going to be the highlight of my year. I absolutely can not wait. Matt Good's album is coming out, the Deftones, and TMV. TMV will be the most monumental thing to happen forever.

I need all those songs too.
That's what I get for being a procrastinating downloader.

Seriously -- every single one of the Mars Volta songs i've heard so far (except that untitled live one--which has a fun guitar, but is just weak) has been ... perfect.
They all seem so ... unconventional. The first time I heard Drunkship & Apparatus I was like, "these songs aren't that great" but they ... grow on you. Each one gets inside my head and i'm humming parts all day long.
As for my favorite part in any of the songs: the break riff in Concertina (jesus christ, I'm reminded of how much I love music when I hear that) and the end of the first verse in Apparatus (about 0:50 -- where he goes something like "Is it you? Has jarg ahhhhhhhhhhh!! ... i've been waiting for so long, for so long, etc.)
