Ok I tried to contain myself but I really cant.
Omar and Jon, 2 of the 6(?) members of TMV played a show tonight in LA.
They just jammed for about 25 minutes, no structure, no lyrics, no inhabitions.
And it was FUCKIN INCREDIBLE!
I cant believe I was lucky enough to witness this! Omar has got to be one of the best guitarists in the last 3 years. If tonight is a taste of what his solo/film score music is like, then we're in for alot of great music in the years to come.

take any pictures?
i've seen this before...opening band for fugazi...they had no structure, they came out and said hi then jammed for 45 minutes without stopping...just a guitarist and drummer...it was insane...put white stripes back in their little mainstream hole of shame..but it was incredible...after the show i talked to them and they were like "yea, we like to jam alot..."
then fugazi tore the place apart...

there's a band in leeds who do a similar thing, but i guess they sound totally different - they play melvins-style sludge rock, but with just two people. the heaviness of the guitar sound is really quite amazing.

There was a point in the beginning of the show where all I could see was the red neon lights. But the audio is great. I did manage to salvage some good footage. I work today threw saturday so i might get to it sunday day. I'm gonna try and film de facto there on saturday, but i'm not sure how good of a thought that is since i konw what i'm in for there now. i'm not kidding you, even my eyes where having trouble seeing in there, they had a red curtain and red lighting, NOT the best combo.
