i LOVE antibalas!! Their live shows are really something else. They play music like there's no tomorrow... for hours on end if they could. And they are such kind people. At one of their shows where they were recording, they gave away maybe 200 copies of it shortly after the show (dont ask me how they worked that quickly)... in nice packaging and all. AND their shows are ridiculously cheap like twelve bucks... there usually are at least that many players on stage.
MATTER OF FACT!.... they are playing a midnight show tonight at SOB's for those in the nyc area. Depending on how when TMV are done, i just might head over. I know, i'm a lucky fuck. To potentially make you all even more jealous, the siren festival (http:www.villagevoice.com/siren) is tomorrow... it's free too.
hey man, i love the desert! There was this environmental course at my college called "The desert is a place" The peacefulness, the colors, the mediative nature... the all night parties... the dead bodies.
Not to mention, the drive to vegas from so cal is so beautiful.
Hey spidey - to make up for the jealousy i've caused, you want a copy of the aforementioned antibalas show?

yea i saw them this summer at the blues fest. they were playing on this little stage after the big band had finished. that night it had rained really hard and made everyone really really extremly wet and pretty damn cold. but when we made it to the antibalas show i was pretty cold and wanted to go home but after a while they just warmed me up completly and i just felt so good that i didn't want to leave. however the person i was with didn't quite feel the same way so we had to leave. i hope they come back cause i would love to see them again.
