Hello! I have just discovered Mars Volta very recently, at a RHCP gig in Glasgow, and was pretty much bowled senseless by their energy and style and vibe. I was kind of disappointed by the reception they got from the crowd (but the Scots are notoriously po-faced!). I think that they were too hyped to see Anthony, Flea, John and Chad to spend any time hearing a new sound. It was a bit like, I dunno, waterskiing for the first time - it feels strange and unfamiliar, but once you get a grip of what's going on it's pretty cool! I dashed out to try and buy Tremulant (discontinued on CD in England?!?!), but you fellas can fill me in on whatever I need to know, I'm sure. FIRE AWAY!!!

Oh. I was never, like, world class or anything you know. I gave it up when I nearly sliced my head off with my own ski........not big or clever, couldn't do it again if my life depended on it, and I still have the scars to prove it!
Point is though, the best experiences in life are the dodgiest!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rargh!
Wanna try zobing?

Agreed. Can't lift the bloody sail thing out of the water. Laser racing's cool, though. Keeps all the right bits trim, too!

Hey Mate welcome to the board! I just want to ask something with you being a RHCP fan an all. How do you compare The Mars Volta with RHCP now that you've heard them?

It's kind of strange, because they've got totally different musical styles, but the exciting, raw, unashamed music that Mars Volta make is so original and off-track from all the other stuff that's going on music-wise at the minute that it reminds me of the early Peppers recordings. Do your own stuff, and it comes from somewhere important, inside, and MEANS something. It's a rare thing I think to truly go off-map, what with so many potential stars trying to please the public. The feeling and vibe is the important thing. They have it!! Definitely.
