look at what is going down in iraq... the iraqi people are THANKING US, they are KISSING PICTURES OF BUSH, they are TEARING DOWN SYMBOLS OF SADDAM, they are HUGGING OUR SOLDIERS how many times have i listened to people on this board *cough cough* (bermibao, sonic, cosmanuata, etc.) - say how EVIL the U.S. military and government and how this war is negative for the people of iraq and how the war is wrong, how civilians are dying *cough*(neon) well go talk to an iraqi and see how he feels about the U.S. NOW. now that their families aren't being held accountable if they spoke one word of positivity towards the U.S. they actually are liberated - no matter how many times that sounded sooo arrogant in the past, it has come true. ;D sorry if this comes off as pretentious, it's just that for once i'm finally happy with politics, not angry over them. maybe you can keep this in mind next time we have a political discussion. and once again sorry to sound arrogant but you have to be tolerant - after all, i am an american

I agree that it is a huge relief to see so many Iraquis happy, but the BBC reports are saying that the people out celebrating (and also looting) make up very small percentage. Everyone else is hiding out.

of course...this war is not wrong at all, in fact, it's a war of happiness...any iraqi would agree, just ask any family of a person who got hit by a stray bomb...i'm sure they'll say that their son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, father, or lover deserved to die...for the good of their country...
i've been trying to see this whole war from both sides most of the time...eliminates confirmation bias...but i don't think some of those remarks were necessary...i'm happy that we're helping liberate iraq...it's going to be tough however to get their economy going again...we also have to look at our own... i thought the sight of our soldiers helping out their soldiers and civilians was the right thing to do, and i thought they did a pretty good job, despite the missed targets...
im still not a bush fan either...sorry, dont really like a republican president...
peace

im sure they were delighted when Uday came in and slaughtered their families. they'd definetly prefer that, i dont understand why bush even bothered when Uday could do what hes obviously set off to do, kill civilians exactly everyday they find evidence of the family's torture and killings, etc. today i saw they had a prison for CHILDREN who would not join saddam's youth regime and some CHILDREN had been there for 5 YEARS and about the republican president - thank you, cause its even more clear that a lot of the war protests were not against the cause or for moral reasons, they were against bush - a republican, nobody can ever fucking admit when the guy does something right

i'm sorry, but i always say not to bush and not to saddam...i think they are (both) fascist dictators. the difference is that saddam doesn't have uranium bombs (not nuclear bombs...maybe you know the "engllish words" for a "poor uranium" bomb) that in the future will make a nation of cancerous people. (yes...maybe your cnn doesn't tell you...but is true) saddam doesn't have the pretention of impose to the world an economical system by the military force. saddam doesn't break the U.N. resolutions (where are the chemical weapons?) as U.S. goverment and israel did. Saddam doesn't support osama but U.S. goverment did support terrorist groups. (contras in Nicaragua, Patria y Libertad in Chile, Saddam hussein in earlys 80, osamma bin laden in afganistan against URSS, fascist generals in southamerica...)
again and specially for the guy who named me ....nobody likes saddam....but Bush is the most dangerous terrorist in our time.
don't believe all your CNN say to you.

Group X is pretty fuggin sweet
anyway, i apologize...i didn't mean to direct my sarcasm towards anti-war beliefs...just against what was said earlier...people were dying senselessly from saddam's dictatorship; civilians were dying either way...but still the statement earlier was uncalled for...
also, war or not, i would still keep my remark about bush...i apologize again if it seemed that was in relationship with the first half of my previous post
i'm going to convince myself that there's nothing going on from now on...these war posts are getting annoying...
from now on...what war? what the hell are you guys talking about?
peace

Jesus Fucking Christ. first of all...never said "american people did..." always "U:S: goverment did" and wasn't A person of goverment...it was a foreing policy...why capitalism is the only one system in earth...because the intervention of U.S. goverment in many countrys in this century (and earlier) did you know who are the owners of the industries that rebuillt irak...who are the owners of the the oil industrie s that will start explote oil on irak? when a foreing group kill people in your country you say "it was terrorism"....many countrys can say the same thing about U.S. goverment.
